The ICPA offers its members the designation of Certified Practising Accountant (ICPA).

Membership requirements

The ICPA does not require its members to have achieved or possess any formal professional accountancy qualifications. It does however require a prospective member to have relevant accountancy experience, 5 or more years in practice or 10 years in the accountancy profession. Recent developments

The ICPA is vocal in its opposition to the legal protection of the term accountant in the United Kingdom. It is currently running a campaign entitled ‘Accountants Under Fire’ to oppose any such legislation in the UK.
